Artist Statement:

 

 

Hair work has an inherent mystery that contains actual human lives and stories. Sometimes there is a name attached--telling a story. They are most likely benign or something that has developed since birth. Hair symbolizes dignity and self-esteem to a woman.

 

It is what gives them confidence. It is like a throne that they sit on, to portray their confidence. It is the very root of what resembles a woman. From birth, it has been with them. It shows who they are as a person.

 

Though, women are told to sit down whenever they want to stand up for themselves, sitting on a throne automatically makes them feel powerful even if their lives is full of scars and wounds.
